Goudhurst Parish Council has always been extremely supportive of the national initiative to place defibrillators in old BT red kiosks. In Kilndown, the old red telephone kiosk houses a defibrillator and Goudhurst Parish Council wanted to provide a similar facility for Goudhurst
As there was no existing old red kiosk in Goudhurst, the Parish Council purchased one from Dunnington Parish Council in Yorkshire and this was transported to the village in the spring 2019. Over the summer months Jeff Mills, a local farrier refurbished the kiosk to a high standard, and Goudhurst Parish Council took advice from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and Community Heartbeat Trust to ensure that the red kiosk/defibrillator would house the relevant equipment.
Finally, it was carefully moved to its final resting postion this week by The Plain in the centre of the village.
Many thanks to all those involved including Chris, Hurstway construction, Susan Newsam, Stephen Wickham, Jeff Mills, Georgia Read-Cutting and the Parish Council.
